    Job Description

    We are currently looking for an experienced and equally dynamic Real Estate Loan Funder for our Real Estate Department. This position reports directly to the VP Real Estate and is responsible preparing, reviewing and ordering loan documents on first and second trust deed loans in accordance to the terms of the loan request. The ideal candidate will review regulatory forms, perform and complete a pre-funding quality control for each file, gather and assemble information and documentation to complete the closing file and ensure pre-documents and funding conditions meet investor guidelines. Furthermore, the Real Estate Loan Funder will fund, ship, and board each loan, perform post-closing quality control and ensure final documents are received.

    Responsibilities include but at not limited to:

  • Prepares, reviews, and orders loan documents on first and second trust deed loans in accordance with the terms of the loan request.
  • Reviews loan documents for compliance such as RESPA, TILA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Performs and completes pre-funding quality control for each file and corrects errors as needed.
  • Prepares each loan file for funding and recording and disperses funds.
  • Ensures all required documentation has been properly signed and all pre-closing conditions have been met.
  • Prepares post-closing quality control review.
  • Re-verify all data provided applying internal Quality Control procedures.
  • Maintain and cultivate an effective client centric relationship with Internal (loan production and loan operations staff, other departments, branches, etc.) and external (clients, realtors, etc.) clients.
  • Works closely with title and escrow companies in the preparation and closing of the loan transaction.
  • Trailing Document Tracking and review.
  • Shipping of Loans to Investors.

  • We are looking for:

  • Minimum 3 + years of recent experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of current residential lending guidelines.
  • Current knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to the mortgage‐banking industry (i.e. TILA, RESPA, etc.)
  • Current knowledge of the mortgage origination process, policies, and procedures.
  • Loan Prospector (LP) knowledge.

    Job Description

    We are currently looking for an equally dynamic and self-motivated professional with vision, ambition, and a passion for enhancing our members’ real estate experience as our Credit Union Real Estate Loan Officer. The loan officer will be responsible for originating first and second trust deed mortgage loans in accordance with investor requirements and USC Credit Union Policy.The loan officer will serve as the credit unions inside and outside sales representative by actively identifying, cultivating, soliciting, developing, and servicing comprehensive personal banking relationships with selected members and pools of members.They will need to develop relationships with members, real estate developers, home builders, real estate agents and other outside contacts in the field.The loan officer will be required to generate new business by representing the credit union to campus departments.In addition they will also be responsible to cross sell the member additional products and services. This position will have a base salary plus commission.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible to meet a minimum monthly and annual sales goal set out by USCCU management.
  • Performs credit qualifications by utilizing secondary market standards and USCCU’s policy and procedures.
  • Communicates loan rates, programs, fees.
  • Originates 1st and 2nd trust deed mortgage loans
  • Consults and Pre-qualifies borrowers for mortgage financing
  • Issues pre-approvals and collects data to support the transaction
  • Meets all state and federal compliance requirements set out, which includes but is not limited to Regulation Z, B, FACTA, Truth and Lending, HOEPA, HMDA, RESPA, HPML, ATR and all other mortgage compliance related disclosures.
  • Interacts with title, escrow companies, real estate office and appraisal companies, government agencies and other outside contacts as needed in order to facilitate the funding of member’s loans, as well as build relationships for future referral business.
  • Responsible for participation in community events for the purposes of promoting the credit union and its affiliated companies, as well as securing mortgage loan referrals.
  • Responsible for attending regular credit union meetings, training classes, and conferences.
  • Responsible for regular production reports.
  • Must be able to prepare and present Homebuyer workshops and other education classes.

  • Qualifications/Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in mortgage lending with a proven track record.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to use loan origination software, computer and other related technical devices.
  • Must have dependable transportation as the position required travel (approx. 50-80%). Travel between various USC Credit Union Branches as needed.
  • Must be available for evening and weekend appointments & meeting.
  • Must be able to apply and receive National Mortgage Licensing (NMLS).
