When we hear someone say, “Get in the game!” it’s often an admonishment. It’s telling the person that it’s directed to that they’re sitting on the sidelines and not participating in the game at hand. As a passive spectator, that person let’s life go by without embracing the opportunity to make a difference.

That’s what the “Get in the Game Awards” is all about. It’s recognizing those individuals who are making a real difference in our communities by getting in the game. By volunteering their time and energy, they make a positive impact in helping those in need and being the catalyst for change for the good of the communities in which we all live.

As the “Official Credit Union of USC Athletics,” it’s our pleasure to be the presenting sponsor of the “Get in the Game Awards” at each home football game. During the first 5 home games, one former student athlete and USC alum will be honored as a nominee for the “Get in the Game Award” for their contributions in volunteering at various charitable organizations. These Trojans have shown a commitment to exceling not only in the field of competition, but also in making a real difference in their communities.

For more information about the “Get in the Game Awards” and each nominee, visit www.GetUsInTheGame.com. Visitors will be able to learn more about each nominee, their charities, and to vote for their favorite alum. The winner will receive a $1,000 donation in their name to the charity of their choice.
