Tia Sabawi, VP Indirect Lending
Q. How long have you been with USC Credit Union?
A. Since September of last year.
Q. What is indirect lending?
A. Indirect lending is a tool that allows members to apply and be approved for a USC Credit Union loan from an auto dealership. It helps ensure they get the best financing, and is great when you spot the perfect vehicle and want to act fast.
Q. Have you worked in the indirect market previously?
A. Yes. In the past eight years, I’ve helped build indirect lending programs at two credit unions, one local and one a large, national institution.
Q. What is a typical day for you at USCCU like?
A. Enjoyable and rewarding. I work with a great team here. Their dedication and commitment to service is remarkable and makes my job a lot easier.
Q. Do you work with members directly? If so, what do you like best about that?
A. I do sometimes. I like explaining the convenience of the indirect process to members, and helping them get a great deal at a partner dealership.
Q. What is life outside of work like for you?
(Spoiler alert: Don’t play Toy Story trivia with her)
A. Fulfilling! I have a supportive family, including an active two-year-old son and a nephew who is two months younger, so needless to say, life isn’t boring… even though I’ve probably seen Toy Story about a million times over the last few months.
