Spotlight on
Tanisha Curtis, Real Estate Lending

Tanisha feels her best attribute is being able to communicate with people. That, she says, makes working in our Real Estate Department an ideal job.

Q. Why is establishing a relationship with potential homebuyers so important?
A. Because the more I can get them to open up and discuss their needs and wishes, the better I’m able to help them.

Q. By thoroughly explaining the rates, terms and paperwork?

A. More than that. I can offer a different perspective, address specific concerns, and sometimes give them a gentle push in the best direction for them. And with today’s low rates, people have more questions than ever!

Q. How long have you been in real estate lending?
A. I started in 1996.

Q. When did you start at USC Credit Union?
A. December of 2008. As soon as I arrived, I was struck by the credit union culture. It’s all about doing the best we can for our members.

Q. It’s a unique atmosphere here.
A. Definitely! I deal with some of the most intelligent and delightful people I’ve ever met. Professors, administrators, Alumni… the Trojan Family is so diverse and interesting.

Q. What about your own family?
A. My husband Rick is a USC grad. On weekends, we love taking our 13-year old son Justin and 8-year old twins, Hailee and Hudson, to the beach for some serious hanging out.
