Notice of USC Credit Union Annual Meeting
The 2010 Annual Membership Meeting of the USC Credit Union is scheduled for Thursday, January 27, 2011 6:00 pm in our Flower Street headquarters. All members are invited and encouraged to attend. Elections to fill the expiring terms of three (3) members of your Board of Directors and one (1) member of your Supervisory Committee will be conducted at the meeting. The terms of the three seats on the Board of Directors as well as the one seat on the Supervisory Committee will be for three (3) years. There will be no nominations from the floor. A Nominating Committee has approved the final slate of candidates below:
Board of Directors
Dr. Jellison is a tenured Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Southern California. He is a winner of multiple teaching awards, including the USC Teacher of the Year award. Additionally, he is an internationally renowned lecturer and consultant whose clients include Fortune 500 corporations such as IBM, TRW, Lockheed, Quaker Oats, Honeywell, presidents of small businesses, all branches of the U.S. military, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations.
Additionally, he has published three bestselling books on management and authored various professional publications, including articles appearing in U.S. News and World Report, American Psychologist, Journal of Social Psychology and other juried publications.
In his capacity as Chairman of USC Credit Union, Jerry has directed the credit union’s evolution from a troubled $2.5 million limited-service credit union to a $330 million full-service institution. His leadership, direction, and counsel have proven invaluable to the Board, management and, most importantly, the almost 55,000 member-owners of USC Credit Union.
Mr. McCormick has been with the University since 1975 and is the Associate Director of the Department of Transportation Services, one of the University’s largest departments. A graduate of West Virginia State College, he has also served as a Senior Field Supervisor and a Program Administrator in the department. Rick has served on the USC Credit Union Board of Directors for over ten years.
Dr. Fiss currently holds the McAlister Associate Professorship in Business Administration at USC. He currently is Associate Professor of Management and Organization. He received his Ph.D. in management and organization and sociology from Northwestern University in 2003, and joined the USC Marshall School of Business in 2006 after three years on the faculty at Queen’s University. Peer is a management scholar who specializes in the field of strategy. Peer studies how organizational practices are adopted, evolve, and transfer from one organization to another. He is also regarded as a pioneer in the use of tools developed in sociology but are rapidly spreading in management. In 2010, he received the Western Academy of Management’s prestigious Ascendant Scholar Award. Peer is also an accomplished teacher, teaching his department’s required course on organization theory for doctoral students and has served on several dissertation committees.
Lisa Escobar is the Director of Administrative Services at the USC Gould School of Law. She has proudly served on the USC Staff Assembly for several years. Lisa has been Chair of the USC Credit Union Supervisory Committee for over six years. Lisa has an undergraduate degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University. She received her Master’s in Public Administration from USC in 1980.
