New features make cars safer

Today, vehicle safety is as important as  fuel economy for many car buyers. Manufacturers are introducing important new safety options you should consider when comparing models.

Rear view cameras
Eliminate the blind spot when backing up.

Adaptive headlights
They turn when the wheel does to ensure better lighting on curves.

Brake assist
When you step on the brake hard, the car will sense an emergency and help you stop by increasing braking pressure.

Crash avoidance system
A camera on the front bumper recognizes other vehicles and lane markings, and warns if the driver is following too closely or if a crash is imminent.

Electronic stability controls
Sensors track wheel speed, steering angles and sideways motion, and will apply the brakes or reduce power if a vehicle starts to drift.

These features may not be available for all vehicles or from all manufacturers. Dave Escobar, our Trojan Auto Buying specialist, can tell you which vehicles have the safety features you want.
